Some of you know that I’ve been trying different recipes for these cookies for months, but none of them have convinced me, until now. These are so good! Perfect consistency, sugar level and flavor. The three of us loved them, so they definitely passed the test!

I’m sure some of you already have your perfect chocolate chip cookies recipe. It took me a long time to find it. If you are still looking, I recommend you to try this one, this might become your favorite recipe as well.

IMPORTANT:

It is not mandatory to refrigerate de cookie dough before baking but, if you do it for 24 to 72 hours, the cookies will be thicker, chewier and have a richer flavor.

INGREDIENTS:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

½ cup sugar

1 ¼ cups brown sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 large eggs, room temperature

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

Line 1 or 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.

In other bowl beat butter, sugar and brown sugar until creamy (3 minutes max).

Add vanilla and eggs and mix until combined.

Gradually add the flour mixture and beat only until combined.

Add the chocolate chips and mix with a spatula until combined.

*If you choose to refrigerate the dough, cover it with plastic film and before using it, let it sit at room temperature until it’s soft enough to scoop.

Place balls of dough on the baking sheets, about 2 inches apart from each other. You can use an ice-cream scoop, or cookie scoop to form the balls. The measurement I use for these cookies is 3 tbsp.

Bake for about 13 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The center of the cookie must look a bit soft (it took 15 minutes in my oven). Remember, each oven is different, make sure to write down how long it took in yours, for next time.

Let cool for 5 minutes before removing them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Makes about 23 cookies.

Enjoy!

Xoxo,

MJ
