First things first
This review has no spoilers.
I decided to recommend this drama because it was very sweet and touching. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a series like this and I enjoyed each episode smiling and sighing.
But I feel that I should tell you something: I wasn’t ok with the ending. I will write a little bit about it later, without revealing any spoilers; the point is, I’d love you to watch it because it’s beautiful. You know, when it comes to Korean dramas, you have to enjoy the journey, but concerning the ending, there’re always a 50/50 chance you’ll like it. I know that many people liked this ending, personally, I almost get a heart attack! Lol!
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol is a South Korean series of 16 episodes, released on October 7th 2020 by Netflix. Its genre is comedy, romance and drama.
Synopsis
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol begins with the story of a little girl, Ra Ra, whose millionaire dad decides to hire private piano lessons for her at an early age, which later became her profession. As a grownup, on her wedding day, her life changes completely after her father’s bankrupt and death, leaving her alone and helpless. Somehow, she ends up moving to a small town named Eunpo, outside of Seoul. There she meets Jun, whom she met before on her wedding day.
In general terms
This is a very sweet and corny story, which is exactly what I needed to watch. Sometimes we need a dose of cuteness in our lives.

Each episode was a delight in many ways. We get to meet wonderful characters who show up in Ra Ra’s path and help her during her misfortunes, but the cute part is, that the help is mutual, because she also helps them without realizing it.
The plot is also based on deceit. What I mean is that, on each episode they make you believe one thing and on the next, you find out what is really happening. This system was very entertaining during the first half of the drama, very dramatic during the second half, and on the last two episodes, I think the writers got too excited and lost their compass of sanity.
Why do I recommend Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol?
It’s sweet, fun and emotional
As I mentioned before, the plot is sweet and light. Very entertaining and fresh. That’s what I liked the most.
It’s also very funny, Ra Ra goes through a lot, but she is not alone, it’s as if destiny placed many angels on her path so she can move on with her life.
The drama is also very emotional, I cried many times, with sentiment!
Ra Ra
I love how this character was written, and the actress is perfect for the role.

Ra Ra grew up as a very spoiled girl and always had everything. Her mom died when she was a baby, but she always had the unconditional love and support from her dad. Ra Ra is too naive and sweet, and she wins everyone’s heart. She has no evil inside her. There was never a moment I didn’t like her. Yes, she is very innocent for the real world and sometimes you may feel it’s too much, but I didn’t see it that way. Like I said, I needed to see this extreme kind of positivism; despite all she went through, she never lost her light.
The characters
I loved most of the characters, you have to see them. Among my favorites are Dr. Cha, an excellent guy, I really like him; Mr. Kim, an adorable elder who is like a father to Jun and a guardian angel to Ra Ra; and of course Jun, who is the principal character alongside Ra Ra, a guy with a kind heart, who ran away from his parents and suffers a great loss. Having Ra Ra nearby gives him happiness and a reason to keep going.
Cinematography
I loved the presentation of images, colors, music and movement.
The music
One of the big components of this drama is the classic music, played by piano. Each episode represents a musical piece and sometimes they talk about the piece and its story, which I found magical and beautiful. When Ra Ra plays the piano, she shares an energy that no one can resist.
Sometimes, after each episode I’d find the song on YouTube so I could listen to it again.
The clothing
Ra Ra’s clothing design was my favorite, her style was on point with her personality, loved it.
The locations
I liked the town where the drama was developed. Ra Ra’s music studio and the beauty salon were located at the end of a high hill street, with a beautiful sight of the port.
Locations in Seoul were cool too, specially the coffee shops; I am super fan and a faithful visitor of coffee shops, also a coffee lover, so it was a delight to see many of them and their lovely decor.
A little ending note
I highly recommend Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol for being fun, emotional, corny and filled with classical music. The ending, well, you might like it. I had conflict with a couple of events that were… I don’t know how to say it; but many people were happy with it, so let me know your thoughts, I’d love to read them!

MJ
