This is a question that many people debate about. We’ve all been through a moment when we have said “I don’t like EBooks”, or “I will never change to EBooks”.
But, eventually, for some reason, we end up reading one EBook and realize it wasn’t so bad. Then, we start loving them.

EBook or paper book?
From my point of view, the answer is: Definitely both.
Each one has its own unique features, and today more than ever, I think both must be in our lives.
If you are still in denial about entering the EBook world, let me give you some benefits about both features:
Paper book
There is nothing more delightful than having a book on our hands, one that we’ve waited long time for, even one that we didn’t know existed and came to us.
Among the advantages of having a paper book is the fact that it’s beautiful, it’s ours, and it will last many years; it will pass on from your hands to your kids’, siblings’, friends’, or even to an unknown person who will cherish it as much as you have. Paper books have a story besides the one inside them, and that’s magical.
As a disadvantage, I can only say that paper books use a lot of space, and when we are compulsive readers, we have way too many, and then we don’t know what to do with them all.
EBook
The Advantage of an Ebook is that you can have as many as you want in one device, you can take them anywhere you go, and then choose which one you want to read according to your mood.
Other advantage is that you can read them all night without having to suffer for bad lighting.
Not least important, is the fact that you can find hundreds of free EBooks online. Even if you buy them, the cost is much lower that a paper book, which helps a lot to the economy of a bookworm.
Other thing I love, is that I have found books that are not available in my country; also, I have found authors that only publish digitally and I’ve read some wonderful EBooks from them. That would’ve never happened if I only read paper books.
One of the disadvantages of EBooks, is that they could damage your vision if you do not use the adequate device. Nowadays we have tools like Kindle, its screen has no reflection and it looks like an actual book page. I think that a digital reader must invest in good equipment.
Kindles are not expensive, and its only purpose is to store Ebooks and read them. I love that it doesn’t have any other features; you can learn more about that awesome item here.
Personal experience
I am a compulsive reader since childhood. About 6 years ago, my best friend started reading EBooks and she was trying to convince me to read them all the time, but I wouldn’t give in. Until one day, for my birthday, she gave me a tablet with many books included. The first book I read, I couldn’t put down and finished it at 06:00 am. Then I got hooked into an amazing saga, reading 18 books from that saga in the tablet. Those books were not on sale in my country, so they would’ve never come to me if my friend didn’t find them online!
I will never stop buying paper books, I will always buy memorable titles, and also buy them as presents for friends and family; besides, I always receive them as gifts for my birthday or Christmas, which gives me too much joy. But the amazing books I have read thanks to the digital world, would’ve never come to me any other way, and I am grateful to technology for that.
A little ending note
In conclusion, to me, both features are essential. There are many editions worth having on paper, many books online worth reading, and many online authors worth discovering.
So, if you haven’t entered the EBook world yet, get on it! You won’t regret it.
